Curly’s Fried Chicken began in 2011 as a beloved tailgate tradition at Atlanta Falcons games, where Curly Johnson and his family served up homemade fried chicken that quickly gained a loyal following. The overwhelming demand led to the opening of a restaurant in West Midtown in 2012, attracting fans from across the Atlanta metro area. Though it closed in 2014, the brand has made a heartfelt comeback at the historic Atlanta Municipal Market, where Curly’s legacy continues through his son Steve. Celebrated by Atlanta Magazine and even Anthony Bourdain, Curly’s remains a local favorite known for serving some of the best fried chicken in the city.
