Joe Baker of Baker Farms and Chef Holly Chute will be meeting customers and dishing out a great collard greens salad.
Collard Greens are a great southern holiday staple. Some people believe if you eat them on New Year’s Day you will receive more money in the next year. Local Georgia Grown Collard Greens can be purchased year round at the Sweet Auburn Curb Market. The Sweet Auburn Curb Market is Atlanta’s oldest public market, in operation since 1917. During the months of November and December more than 8,000 cases or 250,000 pounds of locally grown greens will be sold at the Sweet Auburn Curb Market, more than any other retail location in Georgia. Baker farms in Ellenton, Georgia, produce most of those greens. The Bakers have been farming since 1970 and are proud Georgia farmers that now ship bagged and bulk greens all over the east coast and Canada.
