The Sweet Auburn Curb Market from Southern Foodways on Vimeo.

The Sweet Auburn Curb Market is honored to be the subject of a new short film!

On Thursday, February 4 at 7 pm, the Atlanta History Center will host a screening and panel discussion of The Sweet Auburn Curb Market, a documentary film by Katie King, who earned her M.A. in Southern Studies from the University of Mississippi last spring.

This short film speaks with a variety of people who grew up in the market and still frequent the space—including vendors, employees, and customers—about what the market was like in decades past, how it has changed, and how it remains the same.

After the screening, filmmaker Katie King will be joined on stage by Melissa Booth Hall, Assistant Director of the Southern Foodways Alliance, and vendors from the Sweet Auburn Curb Market to discuss its importance to the city of Atlanta past and present.

Admission for all lectures is $5 for members and $10 for non-members. Reservations are required. Please reserve tickets online here.
